In this book, actress and teenager, Emma has landed the role of a lifetime, playing opposite the smoldering teen superstar, Reid Alexander, in a movie that is slated to be a modern teen-centered adaptation of Pride and Prejudice. While this happens to be Emma’s favorite book, she’s unsure whether the movie will do it justice. On the other hand, it’s good for her career, right? Her father and her agent seem to think so. And, hello! She gets to kiss REID ALEXANDER!
Reid, on the other hand, could care less about the critical acclaim of the movie; he’s already taken the screen and the world by storm. But, when Brooke, and old flame lands a part in the movie, Reid’s confidence is shaken. Further, his crush on Emma may not withstand the pressure of the spotlight. And for the first time, it seems he may actually want more than an on-set romance.
Once again, a big congrats to Tammara for getting her book out to the world. I’m so happy for you.

Jody, thank you! You’re wonderful, in that way that parents are wonderful and you don’t realize it until you’re older and you look back and go, “Oh man, they DO know a thing or two…DANGIT. Didn’t see that coming.” 🙂 Your advice and tough love has been painful and oh-so-helpful, and I appreciate you so much.
This process is so OHMIGOSH scary, but I know it’s the right thing for me. I want everyone to know I am so NOT against traditional publishing — I’m just impatient — ready to revise the second book and get going on writing the third!
Now, I’m going to go to work, because somebody gotta pay dem bills… 🙂

Will we get to read an excerpt?

I’m a huge fan of excerpts! Luckily Amazon does them on all Kindle books (and a large percentage of non e-books as well). You don’t have to have a Kindle to get it, just the free Kindle app, which they have for any computer or smart phone. To get it, go to amazon.com, mouse over “kindle” on the left side of the page, and click “free reading apps.” Once you’ve downloaded that app, you can get 10% of any book in the kindle store (and then you can buy the book in any form it’s offered — or not buy it, if it isn’t your cup of tea!).
Congrats to Tammara. I know a number of authors, even already published ones, who are going this route.
Tammara, you might want to check out Smashboards. I think a lot of authors also sell their e-published books there. Good luck.
Thanks Natalie! 🙂 My husband is doing the programming, and Kindle is different from, well, everything else. He’s currently programming the epub stuff for BN.com, the Apple Store and Smashwords. Once the semester is over (he teaches a course at the university), he’s free for the summer and will be ON it!
Two things too many indie authors are messing up: (1) EDITING (this is where you can tell if someone had a great critique partner like Jody or not!!) and (2) FORMATTING. Amazon and BN act like you can just throw a word doc or pdf on there and it will work. NOT TRUE. My husband was a software programmer for years, and if you compare my book’s formatting to lots of epubs, boy can you tell. If an author goes this route and doesn’t have an in-house programmer or personal programming experience, they should hire it out. It HAS to look professional.
at the end of the book it mentions a sequel. is there going to be a sequel? please say yes! this one was just so amazing!
